Gerard McQuaid
Gerard hails from a little village in north Co. Monaghan called Emyvale. It was within the local hall he discovered his love for Irish dancing under the tuition of Kathleen Coffey R.I.P.
As a dancer he won many feiseanna as a soloist and team dancer. In his later teens he assisted Mrs. Coffey with the teaching of the class and in 1992 he became a TCRG.
His dancers won all levels in ceili and solo competitions, and some went on to show an festivals around the world. Gerard became an ADCRG in 1996 and has had the privilege to judge competitions around the world including many majors.
He would like to thank an Coimisiún for giving him the honour of judging the All Irelands yet again, and would like to wish all the teachers and dancers the best of luck at Oireachtas Rince na hÉireann 2010
